Sometimes it feels like God has abandonded us or is punishing us if we are going through a trial or something we don't want to deal with. This is when a higher perspective is very important. God has only our highest good. He wants only for you to move closer to Him and remember the Love that you are. In order to do that, we have to shed false beliefs we have about ourselves and Him. Using terminology of trials or hardships is not the best. They can better be classified as opportunities of Love. When we see them from this perspective, we are able to understand what it is that He is asking us to do, and we are able to move through the "trial" in a much quicker fashion because we no longer resist it.

Make discernments, not judgments. A judgment sees only the actions or words that another body does. A discernment sees a person for who they really are as a holy Son or Daughter of God, and it sees their actions or words as sometimes not originating from this space of knowing their relationship with Him.

You are not any different than the great spiritual masters. Only their awareness, the choices they make, separates them. Each of us, even them, must choose the Light, choose forgiveness and compassion over resentment and bitterness, choose Love over hatred, choose God and Unity over the illusion of separation. We are given numerous opportunities to do this, especially in these times, and every time we choose the Light we move cloer in our remembrance to God.

Your happiness is not determined by anything outside of you -- for there is nothing outside of you. As within so without for only Unity exists. So you have the power to determine whether you are happy or not --- wow! It is not what your partner does or doesn't do; it is not whether your boss likes you or whether you have a lot of money. Not whether you are healthy and your body is beautiful. Circumstances can and definitely will change like the wind. Don't fall for that rollercoaster for it is false. What is Real is your divinity. This is Changeless. Thus you always have your relationship with God. You can choose to be happy even under the most horrific of circumstances. There were accounts of people who saw only love in the concentration camps in WWII. Your attitude and how you see things is what is critical and will determine your happiness. And ironically, a positive attitude of gratitude will bring you the "external" things of abundance which align with your "internal" joy.

Imagine that you are blind. When you meet someone for the first time, you can't see them. You can't see their body, thus you can't make a judgment about them based on how they look. Our judgments are based on how the body appears and how that fits in with our past experiences and our belief system. If you can't see the person, you can really "see" who they are with a vision that is not of the eyes.

Stopping to smell the roses means much more than slowing down or appreciating the beauty in things. Being present, being in the moment, means that we have connected and are part of the River of Life. We actually can't NOT be part of the flow, but our ego minds are always in the past or the future and it appears that the present moment is elusive -- when it is ALL that actually exists. When we are in the present moment, we feel and become One with the Love that is. We communicate through the language of Love, which is the language of God. So with a flower, we see a reflection of the Love that we are, as the flower, in its unique consciousness, sees itself as Love through us. This is the reflection of God meeting God, which is available in each experience, with each person, with each part of God --- if we only look for it in each instance. So slowing down and smelling the roses always us to drop in this space of Unity, of awe, of gratitude, of beauty and Love. But there is more, as a flower teaches us about the nature of Life. Flowers do not need to boast their beauty. It is self evident, as our divinity is self evident unless we cover it up with false beliefs. Flowers give beauty and joy to others without asking anything in return. This is how the Kingdom of God operates and how we are meant to walk in the world from a space of giving Love endlessly. A flower will "die," showing us that everything of this world is temporal and cannot be held on to. And our experiences in a body are the same. But what is expressed in the field of Love is eternal, as this is what God and Creation is. Anything that adds to Love is recorded forever, so the flower giving of itself will always exist as a part of Creation. Since we are Love, we exist eternally, and our acts of Love are our creations. Like ripples on a pond, they extend throughout the Universe and create new seeds of Love, furthering Creation and allowing God to come to know Himself through His Creation at deeper and deeper levels.

A diamond does not become a diamond without a huge amount of pressure and heat that is created by the earth. Similarly, your process of coming home to Him is not without "pressure" and "heat". There are times on this journey when we are releasing false beliefs, and these times can feel very hard. Even after the diamond is formed, it is still rough. This is when the polishing takes place, and a tremendous amount of friction is needed for that. So that you can be made into a perfect clarity and brilliant diamond which reflects Light in an infinite fashion, you too must be polished. This polishing is done by other rough diamonds, often someone you are close to. As they polish you, you polish them through the friction of your relationship.
