True Obedience

 Be action based, not results based. Follow the actions that God gives you. Don't do something with expectations of the results, because you may be surprised and/or disappointed. We do not have a large enough perspective to know why He is asking us to take a certain action. We may think we know, but this can be ego arrogance. All we know for certain is that He has asked us to take a certain action, and we know that He always has our highest good. And that is true obedience.

Flexible Beliefs

 In these statements, God is often referred to as "He." Does this offend you? Language should not be a barrier to God, Him, the Creator, The Divine, She, Great Spirit --- whatever you want to call "Him." Language is one level removed from God as we live and have our being in wordless communion with Him. The only barrier to God is when someone has a belief system that is set in stone and does not allow for Him to show you who He really is. Allow yourself to flow with the River of Life. A river changes course at times. Allow yourself this movement, which is only possible when you are not rigid in your beliefs that it has to be a certain way.

Don’t Turn Your Face

 What ways do you search for God? Do you like to travel to far away places? Do you like to have peak experiences like climbing mountains? Do you look for Him in food or a bottle? Are you obsessive about exercising? Do you look for Him in relationship after relationship? 

The world has come up with some pretty interesting and some pretty destructive ways to search for God, to search for only what He can give to you, and to drown the sorrow of not having Him. But you do have Him. He is inside of you. You never need look outside of your Self. There is nothing "good" or "bad" with anything of this world --- we can enjoy all of it. The question becomes whether it becomes your God --- is it put in front of Him or used as a defense to keep you away from Him. Don't turn your face from Him any longer.
