Daily Light: June 2013
Through
His Grace are you redeemed. This does not mean that there are not times
when you must exert effort. This is the paradox. Of yourself, you are
nothing, and His Grace is required for you to return to Him. But there
are times when effort is important for you, like when you encounter dry
periods, dark nights of the soul, and you desperately desire to feel His
Presence again. It is not that our
efforts take us somewhere. Through our struggles we see that without His
Grace, nothing can happen, and this helps us to surrender, to know that
we cannot truly do anything of ourselves. Only by the ego being reduced
to the small voice it truly is, by becoming like a child, can we enter
Heaven. It has come to my attention that many of you may not
realize that this page is an extension of The Divine Speaks website,
which has over 2050 statements on it. God will give you the "random"
statement you need to hear at the time you need to hear it. It can be
used for daily mediation/prayer, when you are uncertain of something,
when you are angry --- anytime you need to hear His voice and know what
He wants to tell you. May you use the site with the greatest of
blessings.
The
joy you feel from getting a new car or your sport team winning is not
God's joy. This is an excitement, and ego adrenaline. If your sport team
lost, you would feel angry or depressed, controlled by your emotions.
This up and down, being tossed like a rag doll and subject to events
outside of you, is not of Him, and it is not a way to live life. His joy is always there, regardless of the outer
circumstances. That is the joy of the Kingdom, your inheritance. This
is a joy that comes from Oneness. How do you differentiate between ego
excitement and true joy? If your sport team loses, you may be
disappointed, but the joy of life and having His Presence will still be
there and you will soon forget about your team losing. And true joy is
always accompanied by large gratitude.
When you buy a puzzle, you see the end vision of what it
can be by looking at the box, but then you dump it out and you have to get
there by putting all of the pieces together. Every time you put another piece
in place, it makes it easier for the next piece because there are fewer pieces
left and you are starting to see the image on the box. Similarly, when you are
given a vision of something grand by God, you see what is possible --- you see
the completed image. You don't know yet what the pieces are or how they fit
together, but you know that God will give you all of the pieces when you need
them. As you begin to put them in place, the direction you need to go, the
piece you need next, is revealed to you, and you can really see the finished
project coming together. Know that when you are given a vision, it is always
possible, even if you have no idea how you will get there, which is the case
for most people. Trust that all of the pieces will be given at the appropriate
time, for a piece of the puzzle cannot go into place until the pieces around it
are in place.
Your grievances keep you in a state of false belief. They make you see a separation that is not there. You use them to judge and to erect a wall between you and your brothers and sisters in Christ, a wall you believe keeps you safe, but one that cuts you off from seeing their divinity and thus from seeing your own. When you drop your grievances and you offer and ask for forgiveness to all people, to the world, and to Him, you have become free. Free to be who you really are. Free to live with your inheritance of the gifts of the Kingdom --- peace, joy, and Love. Free to experience the wonder that is inherent in the miracle of each moment. Free to know Him and His deep Love for you.
By what you give, you choose to receive. You cannot give
hatred without saying you should receive hatred back. When you give Love, you
are saying that you are worthy of receiving Love. We acknowledge how we see
ourselves by giving that, because you can only give when you have something to
give. You must have Love in order to give it. And because you are Love, you
have it to give in all instances.
What is of this world will pass away. What is of this world will turn to dust. What is of this world can never give meaning to you. You are not of this world. Anything of this world is not eternal. You are eternal.
Whether you are feeling weary, excited, scared, joyful, or guilty, God is with you through All. Consciousness never sleeps and never stops the expression of Love. He never stops being in Holy Communion with you, regardless of what your body is doing or feeling. When you know this with certainty, fear is no longer possible.
Is it
possible that this sinful self portrait you have created is not true?
That this guilt you have assigned to yourself, this belief He judges you
and will punish you, is not true? For this is badly what you want ---
to know that He does not see you the way you see yourself, that He loves
His or Her most holy child whom He created. Did God create sin? Of
course not! He created only sinless perfection, purity and holiness, as
part of Himself, of Herself. Your sinful imaginings and false beliefs,
this false world where you see yourself committing these sinful acts ---
none of this is or will ever be true.
Don't say what can't be done. Say what can be done. Jesus said we will do greater things than him. Was he not telling the Truth? If he can raise the dead, you can do anything you want through the power of your belief.
You are not your belief system. That is something that is impermanent --- it changes every second. You are changeless, eternal.
When you accept and love everything that arises in you, that returns you to wholeness, and the memory of God and His Love returns.
Joy is innate. If you are seeking something outside of yourself to be happy, this is not His joy. For what you seek outside of yourself to become happy --- money, fame, looks, power, position, relationship, education, stimulants, thrills --- can as easily go away as they can be acquired. What a blessing that true joy cannot be so transient! Anytime you seek outside of yourself for answers, for Him, for completion, you will never find it.
You can feel God's Presence 24-7. Can a cat not feel its whiskers? It is only your belief that you can't feel it which prevents you from doing so.
Why do we try to control people and situations? First, try is the proper word, because we can never really control anything, at least not from the standpoint of how our ego or personality tries. At a spirit level, nothing comes to us that we have not agreed to in order to help us remember our divinity and Oneness. God makes our choices happen --- the experiences we have, the people we meet, everything. When we get out of the way and allow this to happen, we are in the flow of Spirit and the River of Life
But when we try to control things at a personality level, we are not in the flow. We are trying to hold on to rocks in the River and the current is smashing us. Why do we do this? Because we have fear. We do not trust that God is a God of Love, that He has our highest good. We do not trust that what happens to us is what is meant to be. We think we know better than God what is our highest good. We believe, falsely, that if we control things, we can keep ourself safe. Safe from the world, safe from a God who will punish us. All false beliefs that need to be released.
What
ways do you search for God? Do you like to travel to far away places? Do
you like to have peak experiences like climbing mountains? Do you look
for Him in others and have relationship after relationship. Do you look
for Him in food or in a bottle? Are you obsessive about exercising? The
world has come up with some pretty interesting and some pretty
destructive ways to search for God, to search
for what only He can give you, and to drown the sorrow of not having
Him. But you do have Him. He is inside of you. You never need look
outside of your Self. There is nothing "good" or "bad" with anything of
this world --- we can enjoy all of it. The question becomes whether it
becomes your God --- is it put in front of Him or used as a defense to
keep you away from Him. Don't turn your face from Him any longer.
You cannot give something unless you first have it to give. You must have forgiveness in order to give it. You must have Love in order to give it. In the Kingdom that which you have is what you are, so in the above, you are Love and forgiveness. Because we are One, you do not "lose" something by giving it. You actually increase it because you are giving back to yourself.
When we live with false and judgmental beliefs about anything --- individuals, groups, things of the world, God --- and we are not willing to look at or release these beliefs, we look to join others who hold the same belief. This could be as simple as a brief conversation to joining a hate group. Because false beliefs are like shifting sand, somehow we believe this validates our false belief and allows us to continue to "justify" it. False beliefs are always fear based, and finding others who agree with you may seem to make you feel better, but fear can never be alleviated this way. His Presence is the only thing which dissolves fear, and in His Presence false beliefs and judgments do not exist.
When you feel the joy of receiving something that you do not have or the joy of having something happen that you want, you are planting a seed. The fertilizer for this seed is continued joy and gratitude as if you already have what it is you desire. And you really have it, because physical manifestation is the last rung in the ladder of creative thought. Depending on the depth of your joy and belief versus your still held limiting or fear beliefs, what you want to happen may manifest quickly, or it may take a while.
If
you believe that you are sinful, you will always be afraid of God's
punishment and you will always be looking to do penance for those sins.
If you know that this world is only a dream, that what happens here is
like a play on the stage and that your sins are merely errors or
learning opportunities to bring you closer to recognition of your
divinity, you will not live in fear and His abundance --- joy, peace,
Love, and even material things of this world --- will reign down upon
you. For this is your inheritance as part of the Kingdom.
Accept everything as is. This especially includes those times when you are not centered in God, when you have judgment of yourself and others. Why would you accept something you are trying to change? Because when you accept it, you are doing so from a non judgmental space, your true Self. Paradoxically, this brings you to the place you wanted to be.
Expectations
will bring you nothing but disappointment. Sure, you can expect the
mail to be delivered or your son to take out the garbage, but I am
talking about expectations you have around what your loved ones and
friends should say, how they should act, etc. When we place expectations
on someone close to us, we are giving that person a burden, sometimes a
conscious one and sometimes an unconscious one. And people resent
burdens. In effect, we are saying to them that they are not good enough
as they are --- that they have to change or do something differently to
meet our standard of acceptance. If you love me, you will ...
When a relationship is based on unspoken expectations, it is not
authentic. It is not based on complete honesty which is what centers us
in God. If you and this other person can get to the point where you can
voice your expectations of each other, and you can voice how this make
you feel in terms of resentment and being a burden,
you are breaking down barriers. These barriers have prevented you from
seeing each other for who you truly are. What you have been seeing is a
false image each of you needs to be in each other's eyes, because your
expectations of this other person serve as a crutch that you want in
order to uphold and validate a false image you have of yourself. When
you know your Oneness with Him, no outside validation is needed. You
already have the Kingdom. In marriage, even the belief that your spouse
should love you is an expectation that is false. It is a false construct
that has arisen from society. Imagine the quality of the Love that can
come from your spouse, not because you expect it, but because they want
to give it, joyously and unconditionally. This Love is very close to the
Love that God has for you and you for Him. An amazing thing
happens when you have no expectations. Everything you receive is a gift!
And you are so very grateful for these gifts which begin to spread to
all areas of your life. How would it feel to be grateful for every
aspect of your life from every experience you have to every person you
encounter? My new book --- Thirteen Steps To Move From Victim
Consciousness To God Consciousness: Healing Traumatic Experiences,
Including Sexual, Physical, Emotional, And Mental Abuse --- is available
on Amazon
When we judge someone, we are seeing them as sinful. We may see differences in judgment with some judgments being "milder," but this is false as ALL judgment is vision that is not of and does not see the God within. We judge because we project out our belief that we are sinful --- we are not seeing the God within us. We project out in an unsuccesful attempt to get away from the feeling of being si...nful and the belief that God will punish us for that. How do we reverse this? First, we witness this through our recognition of our judgments. Second, as we have these judgments of others, we look past their words and actions to recognize His Presence within. We call to the Christ within them and ask for their blessing to remember the Christ within us. As we do that, we live "two are gathered in His name." Remember, judgment will never take you to Heaven. Only Unity will, as we cannot get to Heaven without the recognition that God/Christ/Love is within each of us. This is our true identity.
How can we know what to pray for? How can we know what our highest good is? The highest form of prayer is not a prayer of words but is communion with Him. Through communion we acknowledge that only He knows what is best for us and we surrender our will to Him.
There is a certainty, not a belief, behind who you are. This certainty comes from God --- it is that simple. You are One with Him and He is your identity. Your identity does not come from what your job is, how smart you are, how you look, where you went to school, etc. Don't look to anything outside yourself for confirmation of who you are.
Do
you believe that God favors you and has great abundance for you? That
His Kingdom is available to you in all of it riches --- peace, joy,
Love, and even material abundance? Because you are One with Him and His
Kingdom and because He expresses through you, all of this is available
to you, unlimited in magnitude. So if this is not manifesting in your
life, why not? You believe these these truths,
but at another level, you counteract or dampen this belief by negative
or limiting beliefs such as " I am not worthy" or "God is a punishing
God." Many people are not aware of these limiting beliefs because they
run underneath their conscious mind, similar to a computer virus in
operation and effect. As they used to say in the Mission Impossible
series --- your task if you choose to accept it --- is to uncover these
subsurface limiting and negative beliefs and to release them.
It's not really a mission impossible, as this is why you are here on
Earth at this time, and you always have a choice, but this choice is
pretty clear. You can continue doing the same thing you have been doing
and hope for a different outcome (definition of insanity), which is a
hellish existence when you have these false beliefs running through you,
or you can be a warrior and uncover/release them to reveal your innate
peace and joy along with the keys to the Kingdom.
Your mind cannot take you or put you into that holy and still place of
communion with Him, but it can "take" you out of it. Just as the Sun is
always behind the clouds, you are always in this place of communion ---
it is just your thoughts which cover up your recognition of this.
Focus
your attention on God in each moment. Make your like a walking and
breathing meditation on Him. As you go through the day doing tasks, act
as if you are doing these things for Him. If you are preparing a meal or
washing the dishes, do it as if He is coming to eat. If you are making
the bed, do it as if He will be sleeping in it. When speaking with
someone, speak as if you are talking to Him, which you are. As you do
this, you will find that the moments of holy Communion with Him
increase. Eventually, His Presence will be all you know.
This
is the current way of thinking for many. You are draining your savings,
your job opportunities look slim, you have other worries, and you are
not trusting that God is present and working in your life. You believe
that God has abandoned you or you would not be where you are at. When
you believe that God has abandoned you, you are creating the
circumstances which make that appear to be the case, so it is a self
fulfilling prophecy. You will continue to "go downhill" until you know
that God is with you always. Full abundance is available to you and is
who you already are. When you truly believe that, full abundance will
come to you.
