God will bring us many opportunities to practice forgiveness because that is one of our purposes here. There will also be that one person who you just don't want to forgive, often a family member or close friend who has hurt or betrayed you. But the hard ones are the ones where you are given the opportunity to take a quantum leap in your understanding and ompassion and in your relationship with God. It is important to recognize that you withhold forgiveness from someone because you want to punish that person. When we reflect on the need to punish, we can see that this belief comes from a larger belief system that God is a punishing God, not a God of Love. And it also comes from a belief that we have sinned and should be punished. For if we see sin in someone else, we see it in ourselves. If we have compassion on another and see their divinity, their Oneness with ourselves and God, we automatically have compassion on ourselves and see our Oneness with this other person and God. We can see sin, separation, and judgment, or we can see what can better be classified as errors, along with Love, and Oneness. Realize that Love looks past. Realize that forgiveness is about YOUR joy and peace.

There is nothing and no one that can save you other than yourself. This is the message Jesus came to tell us. He told us that the Kingdom is within and that we only need to realize that and be One with that to save ourself. So he "saved" us by showing us the way back to the Father. Unfortunately, his teachings were distorted by those who wanted to establish a power hierarchy where they made you believe that you had to go through an intermediary to get to the Father. Jesus said we are all Sons of God. He said we would do greater things than him and he raised the dead -- hmm, that must mean we are pretty powerful and holy. We are One. Only Unity exists. Each of us comes to be the Christ by dropping what is false and through recognizing that we have never separated from God, that we are in a dream of our own making and that God loves us the same as the moment of our Creation. And we are still in that moment.

The world is blessed through your forgiveness. Only through your forgiveness can you see God. Only through forgiveness can false appearances dissolve, revealing Truth. Forgive the world on which you have projected your "sins." Forgive God for what you have falsely projected on to Him. Forgive yourself for the "sins" you believe you have committed. Forgiveness is not actually necessary as there is nothing to forgive --- we have never sinned and we have never left our Oneness. But in this world of duality and appearance, forgiveness is the lifeline we must grab to return us and our brothers and sisters in our remembrance to Heaven.

Jesus said whatever you do to the least of these, then you have done to me. He was talking as the Christ within everyone. A good example is St. Francis picking up worms from the wagon path so they wouldn’t be smashed.

As our ability to understand has evolved, God has revealed more of His true nature. For instance, in the Old Testament God is not referred to as a Father in terms of a parent and child. He is referred to as a father of a nation, similar to a distant king. During the Old Testament times, many gods were worshipped, and the first step that had to take place was the move to worship the one God. The Ten Commandments were necessary to have people understand a basic moral code, but they were at a place in their understanding where this code had to be transmitted almost as rules to be followed. This went hand in hand with the belief that God was distant and would punish His people if the rules were not followed. Jesus brought us to a new level of God revealing Himself, as we learned through Jesus that God is Love, God is One, God is All, we are His children, and the Kingdom is within us --- we are never separate from Him. Now, we are in times where our understanding is evolving into an even deeper level of God revealing Himself to us. The Christ is awakening in us as the Christ awakened in Jesus.

Remember that you will always be presented with circumstances, experiences, or relationships that make you feel uncomfortable, especially in the times that we are now. These are meant to help you grow, for you to see what is holding you back in terms of false beliefs about yourself and God. These are gifts that have been brought to you to help you see past appearances. When you are reborn, it is not an easy process. The birth canal squeezes you and sometimes you move so slowly it seems that you are not making any progress. But you are, and He is with you through every trial, as you are being reborn in Him.

What is the difference between these two statements? " I see the world as it is" and "The world is as I see it." How we view individual situations and the world is a reflection of how we view ourselves. All is One. There is nothing "external" to you. If you view things "negatively" then you have negative beliefs about yourself, and those are the colored glasses through which you see the world (which is you). So you are living as "The world is as I see it." Your task is to see the world as it is, which is how God sees it. To see the Kingdom. Then you can see past appearances to the Love that underlies all, and you can experience that Love, peace, and joy.

You can choose to be offended by something, or you can choose to not be. The key is that it is your choice. It doesn't depend on what the other person said or did. You can see it as the most "horrific" thing in the world, but you have the power of choice in terms of how you react to it. Why would you not want to be offended? It does not bring you His peace, nor His power. The powerful are those who are able to look past --- look past the offense, look past the betrayal, look past the harsh words. For when we look past what is only an appearance, we see God within everything and everyone.

In order to see past someone's words and actions to the divinity within them, you must first see the divinity within yourself. We see what we believe. If you believe you are not worthy, you will see others as not worthy. If you know yourself as Love, as One with God, you will see others as Love and you will see their Oneness with you. Why is this important? Because no peace and joy can be found in judgment.

God is ALL. He is ALL that exists, and we are inseparable from that holy Unity. But we live in a world that appears separate --- duality. So it appears that we can improve ourselves, take better actions, say kinder words, etc. And in this reality that we live in, we can certainly do that. Each of us has that internal compass that tells us what we need to do that is more in alignment with who we are as Divine beings, and we need to pay attention to that every moment. When we recognize what we want to "change" in ourselves --- there can really be no change, only the appearance of change --- we must not have self judgment. We must carry that knowing that ALL is God, that ALL is holy and perfect, that we are holy and perfect, WHILE desiring change. We must accept ALL, accept ourselves as we are, WHILE recognizing what we want to "change." If this sounds paradoxical, congratulations, as you have recognized how the whole body of God operates. It is one large paradox. We are human and spirit. All is Unity but we live in duality. We are One with God and the Son/Daughter of God. Staying in the paradox opens up the gates of Heaven for you.
