Why Is It Hard With Our Loved Ones?

As we practice traits such as kindness and love, why is it that we often have a hard time doing "our best" with those we are close to and love? When this happens, we can be very hard on ourselves because those are the ones we least want to hurt. 

But we need to recognize that our loved ones agreed to serve this role for us so we could grow. You don't grow in a cave. Two people who are in close proximity can serve as rough diamonds which polish each other. It is normal that this intense growth goes on at home while you can act like a saint in other environments.
