Depression And Purpose

 If you are depressed, looking for purpose, adopt a stray animal. There is no greater purpose on earth than caring for Gods creations who are downtrodden, whether that be someone who doesn’t have a friend, the lepers in Calcutta, a child without a stable home situation, or an animal. 

Doing the “small and simple” purposes can possibly lead us to larger purposes as the world would see it, but that’s not why we do it. We do it because to care for and be of service to other parts of Creation is who we are in our divine DNA. This makes us joyful and fulfills the purpose of Creation. 

When we do these acts of service, we have to throw ourselves fully into it, get lost in it and this brings us to the Now where we forget our troubles, where exist in unity and judgment and fear falls away. There is no better cure for depression.
