Not Meeting Expectations
When we do meet expectations, we feel guilty. This can be expectations we have placed on yourself or expectations you "believe" have been placed on you by something outside of you, like your family, a group you belong to, a religion, etc. --- believe is the right word, because what expectations are there and what you perceive can be completely different. Regardless of where the expectations come from, when you don't live up to them by the standards you have placed on yourself, you feel guilty and self judge. But this has no basis in reality. It has no basis in who you really are. You are trying to live up to a standard which exists only in your own mind --- even if it appears it is from the "outside," you do not have to accept someone else's or a group's view of you. Who determines your worth? Is is determined by someone or something outside of you, or is it determined by your Oneness with God? Do you believe that God places expectations on you and that when you don't meet those, you feel less worthy and guilty? God does not place expectations on us as His Love is unconditional. Without conditions means that He loves you regardless of what you do, say, or think. Thus you cannot disappoint Him and He does not have expectations you are not meeting.
